OSAKA SEIKEI GAKUEN

OSAKA SEIKEI GAKUEN, formerly known as Seikei Senior Girlsf School, was founded in 1933 with funding from Ihei Naka.  The spirit in which the college was founded is expressed by the term gChujoh [’‰š]. Chujo means to think and act from someone elsefs perspective with the utmost sincerity.  Based on this philosophy, we at Osaka Seikei Gakuen endeavour to cultivate compassionate and conscientious individuals; well-balanced in both virtue and intelligence.

Osaka Seikei Gakuen strives to develop studentsf skills and knowledge in their choice of academic discipline and imparts to students the need and strategies to adapt to an ever-changing world in those disciplines.  More than 95,000 students have graduated from Osaka Seikei Gakuen since its foundation.  International students make up part of our community, with a number of excellent graduates returning to their own countries to play important active roles in their own communities.

Osaka Seikei Gakuen manages OSAKA SEIKEI GIRLSf HIGH SCHOOL, KOMICHI KINDERGARTEN, OSAKA SEIKEI COLLEGE, OSAKA SEIKEI UNIVERSITY and BIWAKO SEIKEI SPORT COLLEGE.  There are approximately 5,270 students under our guidance; 4,200 students in the two four-year colleges and junior college, 860 high school students, and 210 children in the kindergarten.

Each college under the Osaka Seikei Gakuen umbrella has a dual function.  One function is in societal education, to nurture studentsf awareness and understanding of the society in which they live and their role within that society as well as the local, national, and international community.  The second function is in academic development, to promote and be an authority in a wide range of fields, such as modern management information, the arts, sports, linguistic expression and culture, fashion and food cultures, elementary and preschool education, tourism, and business management and accounting.

The educational philosophy of Osaka Seikei Gakuen is to nurture students to be informed and responsible individuals who will contribute to their society.  At Komichi Kindergarten, children are nurtured both physically and mentally in a safe and supportive environment, promoting self-awareness and self-discovery.  Osaka Seikei Girlsf High School works toward developing each and every studentfs potential through quality education.

gThe peach and plum trees do not speak out, yet a path is trodden out for them.h

This reflects the founding spirit of Osaka Seikei Gakuen.  The quote is from the Historical Records of Ancient China penned by Sima Qian.  He reflects that paths form naturally beneath peach or plum trees as people are beckoned by their fruit and blossoms.  It expresses a universal truth that people naturally gravitate toward excellent and virtuous individuals; it also represents the educational fundamentals that derive from the schoolfs name, Seikei.
